Pilot USA has reached a new level of technology with the development of their BluLink wireless headset interface, and pilots across the globe will benefit.
BluLink is a sleek looking device that allows the pilot to interface any Bluetooth capable device to his headset without the use of connecting wires. The system is easy to operate and performs at a high level. The BluLink unit has standard mic and jack plugs that connect to the existing aircraft panel or intercom system. The pilot’s headset plugs are then connected to the corresponding jacks on the BluLink controller. Once everything is connected simply turn on the BluLink system and hold the Bluetooth button for 5 seconds, then enter the Bluetooth setting on your portable device and pair it to the BluLink system. Besides the ease of connection, the obvious benefits to the BluLink system include minimized wire tangle and confusion in the cockpit, easy operation, high quality sound and performance.
Most pilots are excited about the prospect of minimizing wires in the cockpit. The Blulink system effectively reduces wire tangle and confusion even if an external device is not linked because the system allows the pilot to operate the headset without attaching the plugs directly to the panel or intercom. If a device is linked, the pilot gains the added benefit of operating a cell phone of listening to music through the headset. The BluLink controller is sleek and slender, fitting easily in the palm of a hand and has adequately sized buttons to allow for precise manipulation. Possibly the greatest feature of this system is the high quality of sound that is transferred to the headset. Listening to music through the device is superior to many car audio systems.
The BluLink system will work with any headset, intercom or audio panel, and any Bluetooth capable portable device. Pilot USA makes a version that accommodates general aviation, helicopter, and Bose panel mount plugs. The system is powered by 2 AA batteries and is reported to get up to 25 hours of operation per set of batteries.
Pilot USA has come up with an obvious winner with the BluLink system and pilots are going to be asking for it in pilot shops around the world.

CheckMate® AVIATION CHECKLISTS
Why are aviation checklists so illogical? Why are most single-page checklists so incomplete? And why has no one developed a standardized system for more than just a few profitable aircraft models? Well, over 10 years ago, CheckMate Aviation, Inc. asked those same questions and developed the CheckMate®!
CheckMate® is a “full-data”, plastic, single-card, and color coded checklist. By far, it has the most complete data on any single-card you will find anywhere on the market. CheckMate® has all the steps needed to fly the airplane and includes emergency procedures and other misc. data. Because it is a single plastic card, there is no flipping for data! You get all the information on one card and the text is concise in phraseology, intuitive, logical, and complete.
CheckMate® is available for over 275 models of aircraft including: Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, Cirrus, Mooney, Commander, Diamond, Grumman, Socata, Maule Bellance, Alarus, Zenith, and Aviat.
CheckMate® makes a dramatic difference in everyday confidence and ease of use, but also in urgent situations. Whether it’s an engine failure, icing problems, gear trouble, an electrical or engine fire, or a radio out problem, the emergency procedures are immediately there.
CheckMate® is also consistent in format. Whether you are flying a Cessna 140, a Piper Mirage, or a Beechcraft Baron, the data is exactly where you expect it to be. You have a graphical checklist that is the identical format for each plane you fly. Transitioning from one plane to another is dramatically easier. An essential safety consideration for flying proficiency!
The plastic substrate eliminates the problem of delamination inherent in laminated paper products. There is a 100% Lifetime Guarantee! CheckMate® also eliminates the flipping of pages to search for needed data for each phase of every flight. (You will also find there is no annoying “Refer to POH” common in other checklists). Every word is justified and every word is exact.
Features of the CheckMate®:
- The most comprehensive V speed section in the industry
- Everything on one card – no pages to flip
- Dedicated departure, cruise, & arrival section
- Fuel, oil, electrical, tire, & weight information
- Important comm. frequencies and light signals
- Linear scale for measuring WAS, SEC, TAC, MOS, EIA, & JEPPESEN mileage distances
CheckMate Aviation, Inc. is honored that national and international articles have been written applauding their company’s efforts. They have received flattering recognition from The AOPA Air Safety Foundation, as well as aviation safety programs across the U.S. CheckMate® is the most endorsed checklist system in aviation and was also selected as the official checklist of one of the most prestigious training programs in the country, the Bonanza/Baron Pilot Proficiency Program, a subsidiary of the American Bonanza Society. They have received the “Flight Safety Award” from the FAA and The Civil Air Patrol has chosen CheckMate® as the official checklist to be used in all mission aircraft.
“After 50 years in aviation, I can honestly say that the CheckMate Checklists are the very best I have ever flown with. This is a quality product that should be included in every pilot’s flight kit regardless of his or her experience.” - Raul H. Diaz, FAA Aviation Safety Inspector-Operation (retired).
At a cost equal to just a few minutes of flying, it makes sense for every pilot to have such an efficient system in every plane they fly! Retail prices range from $9 to $17. Whether you are a flight school or pilot shop, CheckMate® checklist cards are a “must have” item to offer to your students or customers!
